I have been rather busy over the last few days shooting Paddocks House. The second new boutique in the House collection chain. Having had the pleasure of shooting the fist hotel I was very pleased to be invited back to shoot the second hotel. The trusty Fuji X-E1 and the X100 combination worked a teat again. I use the 18-55 on the X-E1 for the wide shots and the X100 for the details and macro. Sometimes I will put the 35mm f/1.4 on the X-e1 if I need.. For me the details shots are undoubtedly my favourite for a shoot of this type. However this time round I have taken some time out and continued to push the boundaries of HDR abilities for my own work. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have had spending 2 days creating them.
What follows is a collection of images from the hotel shoot and I have practiced HDR.

Thank you for your comment. For me yes it’s still a special camera. The sensor is special and the look I can get from it definitely has a place in my bag for a very long time. Its good to have the option of the two fantastic Fuji Sensors.
Beautiful work, Simon! Many of these shots have a surrealistic look. Is this due to HDR? Which HDR software do you use?

Thanks Mike, I don’t know, there customer has not seen HDR versions, They only have standard images for their website. Maybe I should send them some.
I have enjoyed this post. The shots are really good and your photography here is going in a direction that I would love to aspire to. I’m thinking it is HDR finished off with your Nik aperture plugin, but however, you have got there the result imho is smashing.
Hi Adrian thank you for your comment. It’s an interesting medium to play with for a while. It still only works if I have takes good and suitable shots in the fist place. Lots of fun.

Thank you. The first if the hotels is in Ely in Cambridgeshire and the second (this set of images) is in Six Mile Bottom just outside Newmarket. UK. Hope that helps.
