Yep it’s here. The Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 is reputed to be one of the best 35mm lenses you can buy, and that includes the Leica and Sumicron. I am normally a shallow depth of field nutter and i tend to specialise in making to boring look interesting. This Fuji 35mm f1.4 masterpiece of a lens has just re-defined shallow depth of field and creamy bokeh. So I need to review but I am not going to sit the night this thing arrived. Oh no I’m off to take pictures with it. And review next week. But for now 3 shots straight out of the camera as ridiculously poor indoor lighting. Bonkers. First impressions are ..build quality solid, and firm actuation of all rotating parts and really like that. Feels like all aluminium. Lightweight on the X-e1 so it can hand round my neck all day if it wants. Slow AF but I don’t care, if you read my blog you know I don’t care. Slow down and take time. Manual focus, love it. Results OMG ….. I’m off to play.

Hey Simon, have fun with your new toy. Just one question for when you will be back: how does slow autofocus compare to the 18-55′s? Slower?
Hi Tom
I think it’s about the same. Maybe a fraction slower. But IQ is stunning. Sharp as a razor all apertures and so beautiful bokeh.
“Slow AF but I don’t care…” That’s the attitude!! Lol Pics look great.
Hi Kevin, Ha yeah I dont shoot sports and my models don’t tend to run around to much. The IQ more than make up for it …. Have a great day
I love this lens. The bokeh is wonderful. It’s become almost permanently attached to my X-E1.
I think that might happen to me too Mike.
